Join us for our next Speaker Night on June 20th at 7:30pm. Joseph Page II, who grew up near the Naval Air Station Moffett Field, will provide a look inside the facility known as Satellite Test Center, Air Force Satellite Control Facility, Sunnyvale Air Force Station, and the “Blue Cube”.
For nearly five decades, some of the United States military’s most secretive operations were conducted out of a collection of nondescript buildings at the intersection of State Route 237 and Mathilda Avenue in Sunnyvale. The full significance of the top secret operations that took place at this military installation has yet to be understood. Mr. Page recently published the book Onizuka Air Force Base. His presentation will highlight this important part of Sunnyvale history, in connection with the development of technology and national defense.
