When you walk down the hallway to the Mural Room, you will find another new exhibit right next to the display case about Lockheed. Donald P. Moody, the first scientific glass blower at the NASA Ames Research Center, created this glass chamber in 1964. Dr. Cyril Ponnamperuma achieved the first “Synthesis of Life” in this chamber while he was exploring the chemical paths by which life originates. When Mr. Moody, a 70-year resident of Sunnyvale, retired from the NASA Ames Research Center in 1984, he was presented with a plaque and the glass chamber by the Life Science Department.
