The year 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, and the new exhibit at the museum takes us back to wartime in Sunnyvale. In 1942, Washington Park became a training ground for recruits, and Sunnyvale was inundated with soldiers who added a new element to the town and took local girls to dances at the Civic Center.
Along with many photographs, the exhibit features military paraphernalia from both WWI and WWII, including uniforms, mess kits, canteens, gas masks, a foot locker and much more, as well as maps and newspaper pages from those periods. The exhibit will be on display through the summer.
