Libby Water Tower

Libby’s was the largest employer in Sunnyvale in the early 1920’s and the fruit cannery here was one of the largest in the world.  This water tower was painted in the 1970’s with the fruit cocktail label from that time.  The cannery closed in 1985 and was replaced with an office park, but the water tower was preserved and declared an historic site. Sunnyvale artist Anita Kaplan was commissioned to repaint the water tower to look like Libby’s fruit cocktail can from 1930.  Click here for location.
