Cynthia Liu
This temporary exhibit of Chinese bubblegum card artwork is from the private collection of local Sunnyvale resident Cynthia Liu. Her father, Mei Wu, was the first person in Taiwan to commercially produce bubble gum, the brand was called “Snow White.” Wu commissioned artist Lian Ji Jing to create illustrations from classic Chinese literature for collectable cards that were included with the gum packages.
The exhibit will run at the museum through March 19, 2017. There will be a special reception with Cynthia Liu on Sunday, February 12, from 1:30 – 3:30 pm.
