The Sunnyvale Historical Society hosted a reception in celebration of their 70-year anniversary on Sunday, July 19, 2026. Many members attended the reception, as well as Mayor Larry Klein and Council Members Linda Sell and Murali Srinavasan, along with architect Joe Gutierrez and former mayor Dianne McKenna.
The City of Sunnyvale presented Museum Director Laura Babcock with a commemorative plaque congratulating the society on its anniversary. [photo of group with plaque]. Assembly member Patrick Ahrens sent a Certificate of Recognition from the California Legislature Assembly. Laura presented a brief overview of the achievements and milestones of the SHS in these past seventy years. The Mayor as well as Murali, Joe, and Dianne gave congratulatory addresses.
